Sandy Sherman and Richard Whitney of the Studios at Crescent Pond will show their landscape paintings at the Harris Center for Conservation Education August 9 – September 12, 2012. The show is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. A portion of our sales will go toward conservation efforts by the Harris Center.
The Opening Reception will be Friday, August 10, 2012, 5:30 – 7:30pm and will be catered by Fiddleheads.
On Sunday, August 19, 2012 from 4 – 6pm, Richard will give an illustrated talk on Landscape Painting. He will show the work of landscape artists of the past. Richard will discuss his classical training and show examples of his work and how he has modified the actual scene for aesthetic purposes. He will also discuss the role artists have played in helping to conserve our landscape.
