Who started MBL and who is publishing the Buy Local Guide?
Founded in June 2009, Monadnock Buy Local started as a pilot project of the Keene Downtown Group called the Keene Buy Local Initiative (KBL) in Keene, NH. Since its inception, the Keene Buy Local Initiative committee has been staffed by volunteers, mostly local business owners. Together the group organized and launched Monadnock Buy Local (MBL), designed a logo, and created a website, brochures and handouts. In August 2010, the first MBL Buy Local Guide was printed and distributed throughout the Monadnock Region. Now, a new Buy Local Guide comes out every July.
In January 2011, the Hannah Grimes Center became our fiscal agent.

I would like info on becoming a member. The link to the brochure doesn’t seem to be working.

The Walpole Artisans Cooperative might be interested in joining MBL Our business is not-for-profit and is run by the contributing artisans, all of whom are local. Does that fall within your requirements for membership.
We would appreciate seeing any materials you have about your organization. That would help us explain your organization to the full membership, about 16 artisans at the moment.

Wonderful Joe – I will send you information via email very soon. Thanks so much for your interest, Jen
We, the Walpole Artisans, are thinking of joining and advertising. Do you have a media kit that explains rates, sizes, submission format, due dates, etc.
A few questions about the guide: that comes out once a year? and what is the distribution count?
This is Joe Beer again. The same Joe Beer as last year. We’re also interested in being a Hub on Plaid Friday. How do we do that? Is there a cost to that? Probably you can’t be a Hub if you’re not a member?
Thanks
The same old Joe, though really not so old.
Hi Joe,
Thanks so much for your email – I’ll answer all your great questions soon. Best, Jen
